The Kowhai-6 well was drilled in 2018 within PMP51378, onshore Taranaki, as a deviated development well with a Mangahewa Formation target. The well was spud on 26.09.2018, and drilled directionally to a TD of 4372 mMD, reached on 9.11.2018. Hydrocarbons were encountered as expected in the Mangahewa Formation, and the well completed with a 4.5 inch monobore before rig release on 23 November 2018.
