PEP60092, offshore Taranaki Basin, was awarded to OMV New Zealand Ltd in April 2015. This report presents findings of analytical studies of reservoir petrography and provenance of the Cretaceous North Cape and Paleocene Farewell Formations in the Northern Taranaki Basin. The provenance component determined the likely source of latest Cretaceous North Cape and Paleocene Farewell reservoir sandstones from cuttings samples in nine wells, through analysis of U-Pb isotopic ages of detrital zircon grains and modal sand mineralogy.
