In May 2011, the Kawakawa Stratigraphic-1 well was drilled to a TD of 334.4m by TAG Oil Ltd in PEP 38349. The well was drilled to confirm geological information gained from recent surface outcrop field mapping and a recent seismic survey (TP-08). Additional objectives were to obtain dip data through coring the Weber Formation and also record/log any gas data. Gas samples were analyzed after drilling by Syft Technologies, and in general the levels of gas recorded were low.
