Takapou was spudded on 8th June 2004. The primary targets were sandstones within Upper Cretaceous aged K80 and K90 sequence, secondary target was the Paleocene aged T10 sequence sands, with possible Miocene targets T80 and T70 sequences. Formations were encountered close to predicted depths and basement tagged. The possible Miocene sands were water bearing and oil and gas shows were encountered in the water wet T10, K80 and K90 sequences. The well reached TD of 4186 metres on 8 July 2004 and was plugged and abandoned. Also included is the Well Proposal (96 pages)
