Tariki-3 was a deviated appraisal well designed to test the oil rim potential of the Tariki Structure below the GDT contact of 2322m TVSS established in Tariki-1A. The structure is a westerly-dipping north trending asymmetric antiform, bounded on its eastern side by the major thrust fault and on its western side by smaller back thrusts. A secondary objective was to locate fluid contacts and reduce uncertainties in the H/C in place estimate in the fault block southwest of Tariki-1A. The Tariki sands were not intercepted, however the well allows the eastern extent of the Tariki structure to be mapped with more certainty. The well remains suspended.
