Tahi-1 drilled a stratigraphic - structural trap in the south of PPL 38116. The target sequence (late Cretaceous rocks equivalent to the Pakawau Group) was encountered from 1167 m AHBKB to total depth. The Pakawau Group, which consisted of a predominantly sandstone upper sequence and a conglomeratic lower sequence, contained no significant hydrocarbons and the well was plugged and abandoned at a total depth of 1776m AHBKB.
