Tariki-2C was drilled by Fletcher Energy Taranaki Ltd in 1998 as a production well targeting the fractured Tikorangi Limestone. A total of 105 mbbls oil was produced by initially natural flow and later by jet pumping. This resulted in significant pressure depletion of the reservoir. Production ceased in 2000 and since then the pressure at Tariki-2C has partially recovered primarily as the result of aquifer water influx. No new hydrocarbon volumes have migrated into the reservoir. Based on the project economics and limited reserves, a jet pump operation is unlikely to generate a financial return and is not recommended at this time.
