A site survey of the proposed Moki-1 drillsite was carried out in May 1983 by Buxton Tuder and Waugh for Tricentrol Exploration Overseas Ltd. A 2.8km square area was surveyed, with 200m line spacing in an east-west direction and three north-south tie lines. Bathymetry and sidescan was continuous on all survey lines and seismic profiling on at least every alternate line. Nine gravity cores were obtained. The seafloor is smooth, sloping at 0.1% to the west. Depth at the proposed well site is 101m. No obstacles are present on the seafloor. It is concluded that no hazards exist on the seabed and there are no faults or significant structures in the upper 85m sub-bottom. The Syledis system will be satisfactory for rig positioning.
