Proposed study of source rock potential in the Gisborne Region, East Coast Basin, North Island, NZ.

This report presents geological data and sample lists to accompany rock samples submitted for a proposed study of source rock potential in the Gisborne Region, East Coast Basin, NZ. This study is to include source rock analyses and maturity determinations on the twenty-nine rock samples submitted in addition to a source rock to oil correlation with an oil sample from Waitangi seepage. The resultant data is to be integrated with information presented in this report in a regional assessment of source rock potential. Included in this report are discussions on the East Coast Basin, Gisborne Region: Stratigraphy and Geological History, Samples Submitted for Analysis, Previous Studies of Source Rock Potential, and a Work Proposal.
