The Notown-Deep Creek dome is a low dipping structure situated in the Brunner Survey District, on the West Coast of the South Island. Along a N-S line, the Blue Bottom formation of Miocene age outcrops, and this is underlain by a buried ridge of Paleozoic age. Upon this buried ridge, two hills, separated by a saddle have defined the position of two domes in the overlying Miocene covering strata. Of the two domes, the south one has been deeply dissected by Deep Creek, the oil sands exposed, and the dome drained. The north dome has more cover and closure and is considered worth testing. 4 pages of notes on Kotuku-Notown area and 3 pages on Brunner Anticline are includedalong with correspondence and photographs.
