This compilation report comprises all relevant geophysical and geological data and the interpretation thereof pertinent to PPL 38006 and the temporary licence PPL 38023. Figures and enclosures are contained in Part III. Between 1967 and 1976 a total of 6150kms of seismic lines has been shot and three exploration wells have been drilled in the area. Prior to this, an aeromagnetic survey had been carried out in 1966, covering a total of 9018 kms. Although all three wells were dry, two of them contained some oil and gas shows, indicating that hydrocarbons have been generated in the area, but both wells lacked reservoirs. The third well bottomed in a Miocene volcanic plug without reaching Eocene objectives. It is recommended to continue exploration in the south western part of the licence by drilling the large S prospect before the licence expires.
