Kapuni Single Stack Inversion (Jason CSSI)

This report discusses the 2014 Jason Constrained Sparse Spike Inversion (CSSI) performed on the Kapuni-3D PreSTM dataset (PML38839, Onshore Taranaki). The dataset was reprocessed by Excel Geophysical Services in 2013 for New Zealand Energy Corp (NZEC), but the final NZEC filtered PreSTM was found to be too smeared and smoothed out a lot of details in the original input. The objective of the 2014 processing was thus to improve on the imaging from the 2013 reprocessing. It proved difficult to get reliable inverted absolute acoustic impedance due to the quality of the original 1989 dataset, therefore the inversion product can only be used qualitatively during interpretation.
