Preliminary Results of Geophysical Work in the Offshore Waters South Island.

Approximately 17330 km of geophysical data were recorded during seven months of operations. Preliminary interpretation of the shipboard monitor sections indicated some areas where the amount of geologic section being recorded was not sufficient to warrant later processing. In summary, the preliminary results of this survey have indicated one prime area of interest, several areas of general interest that require additional work, some areas that at present do not appear to be too favourable, and one area where no further interest is warranted. Evaluation work is still continuing.
