Discusses Maui-4. Is a brief account of operations and geological data together with petrophysical, biostratigraphy and palynology reports. The geological history of the area is discussed and a preliminary report on coals included. The objective of the Maui-4 well was the Lower Tertiary sands below 7800 ft bdf which were hydrocarbon bearing in Maui-1. These Lower Tertiary sands were found to be oilbearing from 6662 to 6802 ft bdf. The well was tested and results obtained were 575 b/d oil from 6670-6730 ft. The well is not considered commercially productive. The well was plugged back to seabed and abandoned with the wellhead recovered. Location 40d 02m 24s S, 173d 14m 27s E. Total depth 12859 ft.
