PEP 55768 - Kohatukai Prospect: Geophysical Interpretation Report

Login to download

A geophysical interpretation report supplied by Elemental Petroleum Consultants on behalf of AWE Holdings (NZ)Ltd. The interpretation was done with available seimsic data within and surrounding PEP 55768 in northern onshore Taranaki. This report documents the technical work, including 1)a review of the current seismic interpretation of the Kapuni reservoir and regional velocity fields; 2)a depth conversion using an optimal velocity model to assess the likelihood of structural closure for the Kohatukai Prospect; 3)a paleo-structural restoration to identify trapping geometry at the time of charge; 4)a seimsic attribute evaluation, including an inestigation of the feasibility of lithology prediction using EEI on 2D seismic data covering the Kohatukai Prospect; and 5) a 2D seismic inversion to AI,EEI and Vp/Vs for spatial lithology prediction. It is recommended that the Kohatukai prospect be re-evaluated to incorporate the findings of this study, including the addition of a new objective at the Matapo, supported by the quantitative seismic attribute work undertaken on the existing 2D seismic data.
