Report on Lithologic characteristics of Miocene sediment samples from cores and side wall cores, Moki-1 and Moki-2A Drill Holes- PPL 38701

This report by Geoscience Research and Investigations New Zealand (GRAINZ)provides a detailed analysis of the lithological characteristics of sediment samples provided from wells Moki-2A and Moki-1, constituents of the Miocene Mooki Formation, Taranaki Basin. The following sample analysis were carried out; modal analysis of quartz, feldspar and rock fragments, bulk XRD, clay fraction XRD, clay content estimate, grain densities and comments on the origin of the sediment. This paper includes the raw analytical data of the above mentioned analysis and discusses the findings.
