Near surface soil geochemical study for L & M Energy Ltd permit, PEP 38226 located within the Waiau Basin, onshore Southland. This survey was designed to collect samples across the Rowallan and Otahu prospects, linking in the dry Eastern Bush prospect. A total of 148 samples was taken from an area of 30 square kilometres. From this data it was found that there was higher C2+ concentrations on the Western margin of the Rowallan prospect. There was also above background levels of c2 to c6 which may indicate a thermogenic regime. Further analysis of these results will be combined with other research programs which are underway in the Ohai Basin.
