Aeromagnetic survey Hawkes Bay area.

This is the final report on the interpretation of the reconnaissance aeromagnetic survey over the Hawke Bay Area, North Island, NZ and includes the Operational Report by Aero Service Ltd. The purpose of the survey was to map the magnetic basement and thereby probably ndicate the volume of potentially productive sediments in the area and the structure of their base; and additionally, to map magnetic materials within the sedimentary section above the magnetic basement, should any anomalies indicate their presence. The results are shown on a Magnetic Basement Map which is contoured at an interval of 1000 ft solely from the computed depth estimates. Five prospective areas, several of which may be expressions of known onshore structural features, were recommended as worthy of further geophysical investigation.
