Ngatoro-15 was drilled to explore the producible zones within the Mount Messenger and Moki formation. The well was spudded at 16:30 on 29 May 2012 in the onshore Taranaki permit PMP 38148 at drilling pad Ngatoro G, south of Inglewood. The well took 23 days to reach a total depth of 2610m, at 0800 on the 21 June 2012. Trace oil shows up to 10 percent and gas peaks up to 11 percent total gas were observed while drilling the well. After wireline logging, Ngatoro-15 was cased, completed and perforated in the Mt Messenger and Moki formations for future testing.
