This report discusses the log analysis of the Opito-1 exploration well located in the Taranaki Basin. The objectives of this analysis were to determine hydrocarbon potential and reservoir quality below the Murihiku thrust. This analysis was undertaken by using a combination of core and wireline data. It was concluded that there is evidence of hydrocarbons in the Turi sandstone and Aotea Sandstone.
