Seismic data within PEP 381200 has being investigated for amplitude versus offset (AVO) effects within potential late Cretaceous reservoirs. AVO modelling using theoretical and measured rock and fluid properties from Tane-1 has shown that AVO effects are likely to be slight to moderate for the upper North Cape sandstone reservoirs. Full stack seismic amplitudes extracted at the near top North Cape level show a small (6km by 5km) area of amplitude brightening over the Vulcan high. This amplitude anomaly conforms to the depth structure map at this level. This anomaly is consistent with, but not definitive of a hydrocarbon signature.
