The Kowhai-A1R well is a re-entry of Kowhai-A1, drilled onshore northern Taranaki Peninsula within PEP 38742. Positioned on the western flank of the Mangahewa anticline, Kowhai-A1R was deepened from 4300m to 5467m MD (TD) in 47 days to test the hydrocarbon potential of the Kaimiro and Farewell Formations.
