Seismic Refraction Survey, Waikawau, South Waikato

GNS contracted Drillwell Holdings New Zealand Limited to shoot a seismic refraction survey from the 16th to 29th of August 2006 along Te Marama Road, Waikawau, South Waikato, and north to Nukuhakari Bay. The aim was to determine the velocity of the rocks in the South Waikato overthrust, so as to improve the interpretation and depth conversion of seismic reflection data that had been previously recorded in the region. Fourteen shots were located along the 13 kilometre north-south line. The shots were at a depth of 30 m.
