The re-entry of Blackwater-1 commenced on the 3rd of April 2005 and was re-drilled to 637mTVD. The aim of the re-entry project was to identify any stability issues with the well and then to clean out well and secure production zone below to allow for the installation of a slotted liner and production pump. During the original drilling of the well gas and oil shows were present through most of the wellbore, during the re-entry however, gas showed at 114.3m and oil at 461.7, 466, and 470.9m. Blackwater-1 after re-entry has been suspended pending assessment of hydrocarbons to surface but unlikely to be produced due to damage to well as a result of unorthodox activities of GEL in 2000.
