Turangi-1 was spudded on 7 April 2005. The well objective was to establish reservoir properties and presence of hydrocarbons of the Mangahewa Formation of a structure located between Pohokura and Mangahewa Fields. Turangi-1 took 33 days to drill to TD of 4136m. Logging and testing confirmed 74m of net proven gas pay over the interval 3474m to 4125m in a series of stacked reservoir sands. Turangi-1 was cased and suspended.
