Correlation of Paleocene to Eocene sediments between Tui-1 and the Maui Field, offshore Taranaki, New Zealand

According to NZOPs current subsurface and seismic interpretation, the top Kapuni F-sands in the Maui wells are one cycle higher on seismic correlations compared to the top Kapuni f-sands in the Tui-1 well. In order to aid validation of NZOPs current interpretation the palynomorph assemblages of 21 samples were examined from the interval between the upper F-sands and lower D-sands in Maui-1, 2 and 3. These results were integrated with data from Tui-1 and a well correlation was devised based on NZOPs current seismic correlation, biostratigraphy and lithofacies interpretations.
