Miromiro-1: Exploration well drilled as part of a four well programme to test amplitude anomalies in the (Miocene) Urenui and Manganui Formations interpreted using the newly acquired Kaimata 3D seismic survey. Spudded 12th December, 2004, and reached TD 1884mAH on the 19th of December, 2004. Primary objective was the basin floor fan systems of the Urenui Formation (Mt Messenger) with a secondary objective of Manganui Formation sands (Moki). The Mt Messenger M1_958 sand returned poor quality reservoir with slightly elevated gas (1.5% C1) whilst the deeper M1_1556 sand returned a slightly better quality reservoir with weak oil shows. Some poor quality sands with trace C1 to C5 and weak shows were encountered in the Manganui section but did not warrant follow-up.; The well was plugged and abandoned on December 22nd 2004.
