Processing & analysis of the aeromagnetic survey data over a part of PEP 38716 & PEP 38718, Taranaki Basin

This report describes the procedure and results of the special processing and analysis of high-resolution aeromagnetic field data over the pilot study area which is part of the onshore Taranaki Basin. The primary aims of the study were to delineate the edge of the Triassic/Jurassic overthrust block and define structural patterns within the sedimentary formations. The aeromagnetic survey found a magnetic boundary coinciding with the position of western edge of the Mesozoic overthrust indicating that there is a difference in the magnetic signature of these rocks and surrounding Tertiary sediments.
