New Zealand is preparing a claim to the United Nations, establishing the outer limits of its legal continental shelf beyond the distance of 200 nautical miles from the baselines of the territorial sea. The claim will be lodged with the United Nations Commission on the limits of the Continental Shelf by 2006. In order to define these outer limits new marine survey data was gathered by Rig Seismic Survey 177 from September to December 1996 over Challenger Plateau, Lord Howe Rise, New Caledonia Basin, Three Kings and South Fiji Basin as a co-operative venture between the New Zealand Government and the Australian Geological Survey Organisation (AGSO). Report consists of a list detailing contents of each box, and a seismic tape listing. Lodgement under Crown Minerals Act not applicable to this data. Reference File 10/5/19
