Jet pumping systems were installed in early 1993 in Waihapa 1 and 6 wells, as water cuts had risen above 50%, and the wells were no longer capable of natural flow. Ongoing monitoring of well production performance has indicated that the installed lift systems are not achieving a significant reduction in bottom hole flowing pressure, and potential exists for raising well production rates. It is concluded that all wells currently require or would benefit from artificial lift installation. The recommendation is to install an artificial lift when well water cut exceeds 20%. For up to 4,000 BFPD offtakes, and to keep wells flowing until ESPs can be installed, it is recommende that jet pumping be used and focus is made on improving surface equipment reliability, and reducing operating costs.
