Post-Mortem Review of Kiwa-1 & Tane-1 PPL38421.

Report assesses the failure of Tane-1 and Kiwa-1 to produce oil in an area of the Taranaki Basin thought to be prospective. Conclusions suggest that source rock of a mature nature exists regionally. Reservoirs in the 2 wells are silted, shaled out, or tight. The Upper Kapuni-Eocene reservoir is absent in Tane-1. Strucural closure of both wells appears to be doubtful. Kiwa-1 was estimated to have been drilled 10 km off structure.
