Geochemical analysis of core samples from well Tane-1 Taranaki Basin New Zealand

As part of the evaluation of the western platform of the Taranaki Basin, eight coal samples from cores from the Tane-1 well were analyzed for source rock potential and maturity. All the coals were excellent source rocks for oil and gas and were immature. The samples were artificially matured by hydrous pyrolysis to investigate the type of crude that can be produced from them.
