A geologial and geophysical evaluation of PPL38098, offshore North Taranaki Basin New Zealand was made in June 1989 to determine the remaining Hydrocarbon prospectivity of the license block and to enable a relinquishment proposal to be made. The conclusions recognised the Pluto and Mars prospects as prospective exploration targets and proposed a small budget for a notional development study which included the evaluation of Okoki-1 well data. It was envisaged that if the outcome of this study was positive then the Western and Northern portion of the license could be relinquished and a detailed proposal for a further work programme for the remainder could be presented.
