Cape Farewell-1 Well Completion Report PPL38119

Login to download

Cape Farewell-1 is the first commitment well in the Whitestone/Minister of Energy Permit No. PPL 38119. The main objective was the sandstone in the lower Late Cretaceous; the middle Late Cretaceous section had the potential to provide secondary targets. Biostratigraphic and lithostratigraphic data indicate that the sequence drilled is predominantly terrestrial. Petrophysical and petrographic studies indicate that porosity decreases with depth, as the result of compaction and diagenesis. Modelling and palynology indicate that the total depth section was buried originally to around 4000m.
