Pukemai-2 was drilled as a deviated appraisal/development well with the objective of delineating the southeastern extension of the Pukemai hydrocarbon accumulation in the McKee Formation reservoir. If successful, the well was intended to be utilized as an extra drainage point on the oil leg. Pukemai-2 was plugged and abandoned up to the 9-5/8in casing shoe. Pukemai-2A was dropped off from 1580m AH and sidetracked to a subsurface target on Top McKee Formation 315m NNW of the Pukemai-2 Top McKee Formation intercept. Pukemai-2A was completed and suspended for further testing. The drilling of Pukemai-2 and -2A downgraded the Pukemai oil reserves and upgraded the Pukemai gas reserves.
