L&M Group Limited, the operator of Prospecting Permit (PP) 60743, conducted a partial relinquishment assessment of the Clarendon area in Otago, New Zealand. The report summarizes geological, geophysical, and geochemical investigations carried out between December 2022 and December 2024. The target commodities were phosphate and potassium within marine sediments. Despite historical significance and previous mining activity, recent mapping and sampling revealed no economically viable phosphate mineralisation in the relinquished 58.76 km² area. Nine surface samples showed low phosphate levels (≤0.65% P₂O₅), and geophysical data offered limited value. Consequently, the area was deemed non-prospective and relinquished.
