MEP 57448 - Waitaha River was granted to Whitesails Minerals Limited on 13 August 2015 for a period of five years to explore for a range of heavy minerals. Following the granting of MEP 57448 Whitesails Minerals Limited became aware that the permit contained environmentally sensitive areas and subsequently came to the decision to surrender this area of the permit. No work was completed over the relinquished area. This report also contains a summary of previous exploration and the geology of the region.
