Progress report, Komata project, PL 311777, Waitekauri

This report describes the results of prospecting work on the Komata project up to October 1986, including diamond drilling. Geological mapping, geochemical sampling and geophysical surveying of the area defined four zones that warranted drill testing. Eight diamond drill holes were completed on these zones but no significant zones of mineralisation were encountered. Potential for the discovery of medium grade gold-silver ore amenable to underground mining exists in several zones. Diamond drill testing is recommended to test these zones. Completion of detailed geological mapping and geochemical sampling within the project are required to define any additional zones which might warrant drill testing.
