Mineral Equity Limited (MEL) has held MEP 52683 since 12 October 2010, to explore for the alluvial gold in the active river bed of the Kawarau River, Central Otago. During the current reporting period MEL completed a programme of 9 geochemical samples, further feasibility studies and the development of specialised equipment (including a custom-designed suction-dredge). MEL have submitted an application for a mining permit application over the whole area, which is currently under evaluation.
