This report outlines the work completed by Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited between November 2012 and November 2013 for the exploration permit (EP) 40542, Blackwater, on the West coast. Work has consisted of 10 diamond drill holes (3520.4 m), geological mapping; in which 579 structural measurements were made and 737 geochemical samples were collected. The geochemical samples consisted of 524 wacker samples, 188 outcrop samples, 11 mullock samples and 14 float samples. Results from the drilling were significant, with two holes intersecting the prospective Birthday Reef. One hole intersected 0.45m at 31.8 gAu/t and 0.41m at 62.4 gAu/t, and another hole intersected 0.71m at 134 gAu/t. Following these results the resource estimate for the Birthday Reef was updated and at the time is 0.9Mt at 21 gAu/t totalling about 600,000 Oz of gold. The results from the field mapping and geochemical sampling programs aided in testing geological models.
