This report outlines the exploration completed by Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration (RTME) Limited between October 2012 and October 2013 for the exploration permit (EP) 51496, Manukau Block, Offshore Waikato. Work has focussed on the assessment of historical exploration results and data in preparation for a drilling program. Work has also consisted of considering various marine geophysical techniques, stakeholder engagement, environmental studies. It is concluded from previous geophysical work that the Manukau Block is prospective, however, further work including a geophysical survey and a focussed drilling program are needed to confirm the resource.
