This annual report comprises of the work completed by Strategic Materials Pty Ltd at PP 52704, ending 15th December 2011, at the Hohonu Project on the West Coast. The report includes geology, literature research, geochemical sampling and their analysis. The permit is for all metallic minerals with the primary targets being Rare Earth Elements (Hf, Sn, Ta & Zr) and Gold mineralisation. Literature research based on geochemical results have identified 21 exploration targets within the permit area. Reassaying the panned concentrate samples have highlighted several new targets with anomalous REE on top of the anomalous results obtained for the selected targets. 16 panned concentrate samples (sample numbers 5501-5516) and 72 rock samples (sample numbers 5601-5672) were also collected and analysed by Amdel for the full ICP-OES, ICP-MS and ICP REE element studies. Rock samples were assayed for gold by 50g fire assay.
