An offshore drilling program was completed in the first half of 2011 by FMG Pacific Limited at PP50874, to follow up on the survey efforts of 2010. The program targeted offshore magnetic anomalies identified from an aeromagentic survey and confirmed by a subsequent offshore survey. A sonic drill was used for drilling thick targets in relatively deep water. At the end of the campaign, 28 holes were drilled out of the planned 40. More than 1100 samples from 27 of these holes were measured for magnetic susceptibility onboard, as well as for magnetic grain content at an onshore lab. Almost 200 samples were analysed with ZRF for elemental composition.
