Rocks in the West Dome area form part of a discontinuous ophiolite belt along the eastern margin of the Southland syncline. Here platinum group elements (PGE) are shedding into streams draining these ophiolitic rocks. In the first year of tenure the work programme by Holistic Energy comprised a literature review, reconnaissance field visits to confirm access and base campsites, and landowner access negotiations. It is recommended that further stream sediment sampling (including heavy mineral concentrate analysis), geological mapping and soil sampling be undertaken.
