Field Property, Ground Magnetic Survey Report, EP 40-327, Waikite Valley, Rotorua

A ground magnetic survey of 9 lines was conducted on the property of Mr Richard Field. Lines varied in length from 280m to 800m. The programme was designed to map the extent of fresh andesite known to be beneath covering ash deposits. A total of 961 readings were taken, over a total length of 4.8km. Data is presented in tables as well as graphically. Conclusions suggest that two bodies of andesite are present, with rotational block faulting also evident. The main andesite body occupies the entire area beneath the main ridge. Further exploration is warranted, and a drilling programme is recommended.
