Aggregate resources of Golden Bay, Murchison and Buller Areas

Login to download

Compiled as part of the investigation into the proposed Northwest Nelson National Park, the report describes the roading and construction aggregate of the western Nelson and northern Buller regions. Much of the aggregate produced in the area is from recent riverbed gravels. In Golden Bay this is mainly from the Takaka River and terraced fluvioglacial gravels in the Aorere Valley. River gravels are plentiful in the Murchison area and fluvioglacial gravels are the main source in the Buller area.
