The Oreti Licence covers the beach and dunal system flanking Oreti Beach from the Aparima River mouth at Riverton south to Sandy Point near Invercargill. This beach is forming under low energy conditions with the result that the beach sediments contain only a small heavy mineral component and consequently virtually no precious metals. There is therefore no basis to continue exploration on the Licence.
