This report evaluates the gold mineralisation within the Canaan prospecting licence. However, the licence is over a National Park area. Thus, even if it should prove possible to locate a mineable gold resource, a mining licence could not be obtained. Under such circumstances, no more than minimal exploration is justified and the licence was allowed to expire without renewal. Work done confirmed the presence of possibly significant gold mineralisation within the licence, but detailed follow-up was not undertaken.
