This report outlines prospecting completed on the Fletcher Creek prospecting licence to August, 1987. This work is a follow-up of work in 1986 that identified the Fletcher Creek - Wakefield Gully anomaly as an area of possible significant gold mineralisation. Work included systematic geological mapping, rock outcrop and float sampling during traverses within the anomaly area and additional stream sediment and pan concentrate sampling of side creeks. This failed to identify any areas of gold mineralisation and it is concluded that there is little potential for significant hardrock gold mineralisation. Outliers of auriferous gravels within the licence may represent an alluvial gold resource and further investigation of these gravels is recommended.
