Report on PL 311197 Asbestos Creek, Northwest Nelson, New Zealand, to May 1987

This report summarises exploration within the Asbestos Creek prospecting licence, NW Nelson, to June, 1987. The report accompanied an application for the renewal of this licence. Work included a geochemical sampling programme, gridding, soil sampling, ground magnetometry, and detailed rock sampling and geological mapping of the prospect areas. This work highlighted the potential of the Meter Creek area. The geochemical survey also indicated the Platinum Group metal potential of the Cobb Igneous Complex. Diamond drilling in the Meter Creek area is proposed, however, no further exploration of the Asbestos Creek is recommended.
